Elders

The Elder nomination team is in the process of reviewing candidates to be added to the Elder Board.  These men are under consideration to join the men currently on the Elder Board (listed below).  This process will be complete by September 1.  Shortly there after, the successful candidates will be presented to the congregation for a time of further review.  Finally, near the end of September, a Vote of Affirmation for these men will be conducted.

Please review the Elder Biblical Role and Qualifications document to prepare yourself for your role in affirming and supporting our elders.

Dixon Anderson

Dixon and his wife Pat of 44 years have a married daughter and son and three grandchildren and have lived in the Federal Way area for 40 years. He was an engineer and manager in the aerospace industry for 30 years and following that, a chemical dependency counselor at a local hospital for seven years before entering full retirement.

Russ Guppy

Russ and his wife Margie have been married for nearly 40 years.  Russ is a local man and as he says, "I was born and tried to grow up in Seattle".  Russ and Margie delight in their five adult children.  Russ is a chaplain in the law enforcement community.

Jeff Lind

Jeff and his wife Teresa have been married 25 years and have a 16 year old daughter, Charissa.  Jeff has been at Grace for over 24 years, is in his third 6 year term as an elder and he helped rewrite the church constitution and bylaws.  Jeff earned an EE from the University of Washington and his M. Div from Western Seminary.  He works as an engineer for a large local aerospace company.

Rich Lucas

Rich and his wife Diane have been married for 23 years.  They have been at Grace since 1996 and involved in numerous ministries.  Rich graduated from the University of Washington and Western Seminary.  He has taught at Western Seminary and Cascade Bible College.  Rich and Diane are realtors with Keller Williams Realty.

Tom Lumsden 

Tom and his wife Jan have been married 27 years and have three children-Kate who is married one year and Alene who has been married a little over 5 months and Chris who will be 16 in October and is at Bonney Lake HS. They have been attending GCC for 23 years.  Tom is a counselor specializing in marriage and family as well as chemical dependency issues.

Tom Montgomery 

Tom and his wife Nancy have been married 34 years and have three grown sons as well as four grandchildren. They have attended Grace since 1981, and over that time, Tom has been involved in a variety of ministries including adult education, small group leadership and the church library. Tom is an engineer for the Boeing Company, and works at the Kent Space Center.
